Ever wanted to do something that is daring and amazing like these guys ? You can do it after graduating from this course and getting a license~

Map of NYP

As you know the Open House booth for CPT will be situated at Auditorium.

Map guide to how to get to NYP
Below is a map to get to NYP, you can take any of the bus services found in the map, around your living area. Furthermore, NYP is situated right beside Yio Chu Kang MRT station so if none of the bus services is found around your living area, you can take the MRT to Yio Chu Kang MRT, just walking distance away from NYP.

Graduates will be equipped with an excellent combination of skills, which will enable them to be versatile and be an asset to the industry.

Due to the diversified training offered in this curriculum, a diploma in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology can offer a number of career options. Graduates will find employment in:
  • Chemical,
  • Petroleum,
  • Petrochemical,
  • Specialty chemicals and
  • Pharmaceutical industries.
In addition, they can also work in:
  • Water treatment plants,
  • Waste disposal companies and
  • Chemical/pharmaceutical laboratories.
They may work as technologists or engineering assistants in the areas of:
  • Operations,
  • Process and equipment design,
  • Plant safety,
  • Project engineering,
  • Process control,
  • Laboratory,
  • Quality control,
  • Consulting services,
  • Technical sales and marketing,
  • Research and product development.
They may also work with scientists and other engineers as members of a team, utilizing the extensive skills which they have acquired to find solutions to problems. There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to senior positions with greater responsibility such as superintendents, lead technologist and team leaders.

A large proportion of diploma graduates pursue further studies, either in local or overseas universities. Through Nanyang Polytechnic's linkages with well known overseas institutions, students can expect to receive advance standings in their quest to obtain higher qualifications.

Introduction of CPT(Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology)

This course is strongly recommended for those that want to go to Chemical Engineering for further studies after NYP.

What makes CPT of NYP the better choice than other Polys is because NYP have their own pilot plant, where you dont have to go other companies to understand the things about pilot plant, like the way they works and etc.

To make things simple, it is a 3 year full-time course that aims to provide a strong foundation in chemical and pharmaceutical technology with emphasis in areas such as;
  • Petroleum refining,
  • Chemical plant operations and
  • Pharmaceutical technology
to support manufacturing plants of major chemical and pharmaceutical companies.

If you join this course, you will be trained in the latest chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including advanced instrumentation & control technologies.

This allows you to opt for either;
  • petrochemical technology
  • pharmaceutical technology
in their final year.

On graduation, they will be able to get gainful employment in the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Entry Requirements

  • Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level holders
  • ITE Certificate holders
  • Malaysia SPM/UEC holders
  • Other Foreign Qualifications
